Before I had ever been to Portland, there was one word that summed up my perception of it: Green. Having lived here for nearly 7 years now, I'd say that was a pretty accurate view. Forest Park boasts more than 5,100 acres (that's about six and a half times the size of Central Park in NYC) of wooded wonderland inside the city limits, providing ample opportunity for all of us lovers to hug our trees and take in their splendid details.
Portland's urban forest consists of 236,000 street trees, 1.2 million park trees, and innumerable private property trees.
